Saúl Alfonso Hernandez Estrada
Nicknames: Jaguares chatos

Best known as the lead vocalist for legendary rock en español group Caifanes, singer/songwriter/guitarist Saul Hernández left the band in 1995 and formed Jaguares. In 2011 he released his solo debut, Remando, through EMI Latin.

Saúl Hernández (Mexico City, January 15, 1964) is a Mexican musician, poet, composer and singer. He is considered one of the most important rock musicians in Mexico and Latin America. He is the leader of the Mexican rock band Caifanes, with which he managed to be one of the most prominent pillars and figures in the rock music scene in Mexico and Latin America in the late 80's and for much of the 90's .

After the separation of Caifanes (denomination that was in legal dispute), Saul began a new project called Jaguares. Likewise, he repeatedly had to be intervened because of nodules in the throat, which changed his tone of voice, without this making it impossible for him to continue his career

With both groups, Caifanes and Jaguares, Hernández has released 10 albums and sold more than 15 million copies. He has collaborated and toured with many artists including Morrissey, Stewart Copeland, Adrian Belew, The Rolling Stones, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Billy Preston, North Tigers, Juan Gabriel, The International Sonora Santanera, Los Angeles Blue, Peter Gabriel , Bast, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more.

Since the beginning of his career, Hernández has maintained an activism for the defense of human rights, either through the Internet or through speeches at his concerts. He has supported causes such as the rejection of the murders of Ciudad Juárez and respect for the lives of Mexican immigrants to the United States, as well as having strong support for Amnesty International.
